Elusive is pretty hot. I’d like to see more of him and Spike together. There’s only 20! That is a horrific crime, and a few of those include females too, so I don’t count them.

They don’t have to know what the fuck they’re going to do with him past SomE for this to apply. That already describes this part of his character enough for the comparition I made. Yes, “prone to greed” which is an actual quote from the show, is what defines his dark side. Whether or not they had the episode’s most basic theme planned since before or not doesn’t matter, its still very likely (not a fact, but hard to see it as a cooincidence) that him having greed was planned since the start, as its not even something they made up, traditional western Dragons in most media are often greedy and hoarders. Its very well-known trope. Which makes it entirely possible that they had planned to play with it since the beginning, making Rarity the obvious choice.

Spike is a character they never have known, and never will know, what they fuck they’re going to with. I seriously doubt they had his birthday incident planned when they were writing the pilot.

Its hard to imagine it being a coincidence considering her element is exactly the opposite of his dark nature. There’s no way they’d had him, a creature whose heart is prone to greed, develop a crush on none other than the element of generosity, by pure coincidence. They had to have things a bit planned ahead for lessons.

Actually, it was just a coincidence that happened during the production stage. They needed someway to communicate that Rarity was beautiful, and decided to use Spike.
