The horse puns don’t really translate well. Those I have to explain. For example, „mare“ in German is „(die) stute“. So something that’s a play on words with Mare I have to explain, because a direct translation either doesn’t make since or the wording eliminates the pun. Names are unchanged in the Dubs too, we don’t say „Zwielicht“ instead of Twilight, because zwielicht means twilight. Pretty much all the characters are like that. Except titles, like we say „Krankenschwester Redheart“ (Nurse Redheart), „Prinzessin Luna“ (Princess Luna) and „Kapitän Shining Armour“ (Captain Shining Armour). Just imagine their names with a German accent, that’s what we call them.

And the dubs are pretty… meh. A lot of Germans who also speak English complain about dubs a lot. The actors/actresses try, they really do, but sometimes they get the voices poorly done. Even in MLP, sometimes the Mane 6 sound exactly alike, except Fluttershy; the woman that voices her does a good job. Sometimes Applejack’s and Rarity’s dubs are atrocious, trying to speak German with a southern-american or english or [Whatever Rarity’s accent is] accent just comes out sounding… bleh. I always think the original production language is the best to watch, even if I have to sit through subtitles. Like that Chinese move Assembly. I can’t speak Chinese for shit, which the whole movie’s in, but i’d rather watch subtitles than a dub.

Lucky for you, over here in the UK we get a badly converted to 25 fps broadcast of season 1-2 with sped up voices and drowned out colours once a day on a preschool channel. I’m sure everyone in the UK watches it online anyway.

I hope the horse puns translate into German well.

I’ve heard the German dub is one of the best dubs, along with the Japanese and Italian dubs, trust the Axis to get the best dubs (I’m kidding of course don’t worry)

@panzerkampfpony
Both. Since the German dub doesn’t come until a year after broadcast. Like when we got the German dub for Season 3, Season 4 was already airing in the United States. In Europe, MLP is broadcasted on Nickelodeon, well at least in Germany it’s on Nickelodeon.de, I think it’s a different channel for the UK and a few other countries. I like to watch the show online when it airs in the US, either on YouTube (new episodes don’t really last long there anyway) or live-streamed on Cinemaquestria. My kids are still learning English, so I translate as I’m watching. They understand I’d say about half of it. It’s mostly word order that confuses them, not the actual words themselves. Word order is pretty complicated in German, I’ll admit. But going to complicated to simple can be just as confusing as going from simple to complicated when you’re used to complicated.

As a creator of this Stahlhelm, I can tell you this - no matter how much I enjoy MLP, I wouldn’t ever use a genuine helmet for it… it just wouldn’t feel right.

@Data Expunged

I was thinking about it, but if you can notice the date on the stamp (bottom right picture) I’m kind of behind schedule with my projects, so so no idea when I’d be able to complete it.
It was pretty fun finishing this, so it might be sooner than I anticipate right now though.

Your question and actually the request about Lunar Republic version, should have been posted at source, not here. Would have a greater chance at reaching my eyes that way ;)
