So the concern here is for “pop culture” and the blatantly fictional, artistic impressions that drive it?
That’s the cause you’re trumpeting, huh?
Noble in intention, perhaps, but if you’d seen the movie you might have at least chosen an example of scientific fallacy that wasn’t so petty. Hell, as others have pointed out, the scientist in the movie even admitted that the dinosaurs didn’t look like the real things.
I instead weep for the biologist who may one day have to explain to an audience that genetic modification isn’t going to accidentally give an animal super powers.

Some of the things said in the preceding comment may apply to JP4, but I doubt I could follow them correctly because I haven’t seen it. I have played the LEGO version, but well, duh. :j

Point taken, Ian Malcom was still trying to get everyone to GTFOff the island. He’s the only real hero of the movie the rest are all idiots. Including his wife. The only one with common sense to say this is a bad idea from the first second. I dunno I think 2 was a story that seemed more believable to happen. 3 is just sheer stupidity. I mean the fact the son was on the island at all, the person who paid for it to all happen lied about having money, bringing Grant who had nothing to do with that island, and of course the Nokia cellphone heard from inside the Spinosaurus. I can’t even hear my phone under a t-shirt half the time how can they hear it 30 meters away inside the spinosaurus?

And it’s more or less differing opinions. I just didn’t like how the raptors heads looked. I don’t mind quills or some of the stuff just the strange ridges along the snout seemed odd. Something about it didn’t look right that’s all I can really say about it. We can debate for hours on who’s right or wrong on our own opinions. I still say 3 is an amazing movie just to me 2 is a like a hair better.

I honestly don’t see what’s wrong with the designs myself

However, I disagree with it being the worst. Yes, keeping the eggs was a stupid idea, but at least it was a believable one.

The second one had one of the heroes take the hunter’s bullets so he couldn’t kill any of the dinos. {Said dinos that were eating everyone and he was doing it in self defense.} They broke out the dinos, which destroyed the ‘villain’s equipment, which got several dozen people killed since they couldn’t call for help and such. They ALSO took a baby T-Rex into their camp…I think that pretty much tops stupid decisions. Not to mention how arrogant the heroes acted. {And the compy death and kicking the Velociraptor moment later on in the film were both equally stupid.}
It says something when the villains who want to take some of the dinos off the island to save the company, and keep several thousand people employed, had more likability than the heroes.

I could kick an Asguard’s Ass in two punches even IF they are the basis for the Norse Gods in the Stargate SG1 series. That doesn’t mean they where physically strong and capable. They also looked very dumb. I mean come on, they had the most advanced science in that universe and they basically screwed themselves over by self genetic modification. Their ancient form 30,000 years before the stargate series took place looked more capable.

@Evowizard25
I liked the 3rd movie, not a fan of how the raptors looked. Personal opinion there. Granted I think the 3rd is the “worst” of the series cause my god, that idiot keeping the raptor eggs in his camera bag. That is a worse mistake then doping up the T-Rex right before it got to port. It’s a good movie, 2 isn’t that much better. 1 and 4 are AMAZING though.

And if we get a movie with the feathered dinos I’d be all for it. More realistic design would be cool. As long as they have a true Velociraptor vs Compsognathus fight. My god, that would be epic! Compies Rule! I just said my counter point was that Jurassic Park won’t be the movie series to do it because they’re already past the point of no return. Back to my Star Wars point about Tattooine and different kinds of deserts.

Non feathered versions of dinosaurs that scientifically had feathers drags pop culture as a whole related to dinosaurs back a couple centuries as most people at large do not follow palaeontological discoveries, and thus will keep assuming maniraptors were naked, and that Velociraptors were bigger than they really were. I would know, I was the exact same as a kid.

I honestly never watched any of the movies (I know, hypocrite, whatever) but I liked the style I’ve seen of the third one. Of course, since few others did, everyone ignores it and treats it like it never existed.
Of course, If I did watch the movies, it wouldn’t be the human characters, that’s for sure.

I actually liked the headquills. Well, I liked the whole of the third movie overall and I seem to be a minority. {Which is strange, since I’ve talked to a lot of people who hate the third but liked the second….Even though the second had more problems and the main characters kept getting everyone killed..}

We also have to remember that the dinos changed gender in the first one. So yeah, they’re toad dinos.

Your point was they looked bad because they wern’t correct, or they should have tried. in JP3 they did, the raptors really looked worse. They had quills. Which I believe at the time of JP3 they where just theorized and not really liked. I mean the discovery of Raptors even having feathers was 2007, that was 6 years after the 3rd movie. By then the JP raptors where set in stone and given a design that people liked. Which was shown in the new movie.
