it was sort of rhetorical though
like i get the underlying principles, the tall shy girl thing is like… actually the first shy-girl trope i was really actively aware of even, and i never really questioned it with fluttershy before because i didn’t really have a point of reference ‘til just now, and this interpretation just clicked with me so well it’s like, how is there not more of it? it’s an awesome interpretation.
Like I’m not even saying don’t do tall Fluttershy. Just… why is this one not done more often than it is now? This is nice. S’all I’m tryin’ to say.

Irony doesn’t matter either. You asked why she is not drawn short more often and that’s why.
Why does its irony even matter? In fact, what does anything about any of this even matter? Which is to say, why are you bringing things ‘mattering’ into this? That’s all your doing, y’know. I never claimed any of this was important. I just like discussing character tropes. Why are you so invested in this to lace your most recent comment with such passive aggression?

Logic shouldn’t even apply to this thing. Is all about preference. I can pull something out of butt right now too. She is self conscious of her size so she tries to make herself look shorter by hunching down. But fails miserably making her feel more self conscious. See?
Irony is overrated. The tall-yet-shy girl trope is fine, but Fluttershy’s habit of recoiling in on herself when she’s shy is sort of undermined by that interpretation, as the idea is to make her look smaller, but if a tall Fluttershy did it, she’d still look tall. Fluttershy doesn’t pull the tall shyness off as well. Short works better for Fluttershy.
Because is not ironic for the shrinking violet to be short.
Short Fluttershy is best Fluttershy. Cute girls are cuter when they’re small. :3

I don’t normally see Fluttershy being depicted as short. Normally she’s the tallest, or just about, right? But damn. I think I really like short Fluttershy. Why isn’t Fluttershy short more often? That’s great for her, I love it.
