So when someone from the left gets nominated for a position based on race or sex, it’s progressive. When someone from the right does, it’s cronyism. Okay.

I imagine this is from 2005, when Bush nominated Miers (a longtime ally) to the the Supreme Court.  
It quickly became obvious that no one from either major party, apart from Bush himself, thought she was a suitable candidate, and she withdrew the nomination less than a month later. She was replaced by Samuel Alito who was also a longtime Bush ally, but generally considered more suitable for the bench.
