This is a surprisingly good and helpful drawing guide, going into more detail and variety than the cover would indicate. Nothing you can’t find for free on online tutorials, but the style presented in the book is obviously extremely closely based on FiM (even referenced in the book’s credits) and goes into satisfyingly deep detail on drawing pones in said style from many angles and poses. There is a long section on accessories and dresses and the like, which I am actually pretty impressed by as legitimately creative accessories and outfits are pretty rare in some circles of pony art. Embarrassingly enough I have never learned to draw outfits, and that will be one of the major uses of this book for me at least.
 
It’s certainly not a 900-page bible of show accurate masterpiece work written by the show artists, but it IS one of the best and most helpful guides I’ve come across, and definitely not dumbed down for the target audience crowd too much to make it annoying. Not a bad use of $22 if you’re really dedicated to improving. I know I certainly don’t regret the investment, and will be utilizing some tips in the book to improve my own work.

Well part of that is bull but I would purchase it anyways.
 
You would think some company would figure out a rubber stamp system with just some minor and simplistic royalties by now.

This book is gonna be taught in IP law classes some day. “Some works walk up to the line of infringement. Some stumble over the line. This? This is the line.”

Regardless of being a knock off, I actually really like this art style; The pegasus dude’s actually pretty neat.  
I’d buy it!

Considering that it’s not a an official licensed product, I highly doubt that they can call it “My Little Pony” without being massacred by lawyers.

Are we gonna have to come up with names for all the ponies in that book? Then again, it does say “Little Pony” and not “My Little Pony.”
