Could be one of the true villain’s spy, like the teacher we saw in the trailer where she witness Sci-Twilight’s amulet going bad, I bet she is Crystalis as a spy watching her to become the evil Midnight Sparkle so that she can be manipulated and used to absorb all magic to open the portal to Equestria and rule both worlds. And I suspect that the Human Sombra is allied with the pony Sombra, because it makes logical sense if Sombra knew the magical mirror before Starswirl the Bearded discover it.
It’s possible, but what if she is not doing on purpose? What if she was doing the events seriously but Sunset Shimmer and the HuMane 5 use magic unexpectedly and beat the Shadowbots in every way they could throw.
Just wait, it’ll turn out it’s actually her dad.
Also, that bus driver had to have been in on it. That was a magnificently executed getaway, and nowhere near proper behavior for public transportation.

You might be on to something. Seriously, that’s a banging good theory.
Past games, the shadowbolts beat the wondercults so badly, they would reach an unbeatable score by the halfway point and called it a day for the event. Twilight wants the friendship games to go on for as long as possible.
I like that they reused lines from Rainbow Rocks for this, I don’t want them to give too much away.
