Okay so one person was overreacting comically.
What about ghost face’s comment about her being a “David Lynch” abomination?
Who is overreacting? Why the “drama in the comments tag”? Aside from the comical first comment, no one has been overreacting in this discussion and it has been very civil.
It’s still a ridiculous over reaction to the design. Having slightly smaller eyes and some eye shadow does not make it horrifying or an abomination. Just a little weird looking at worst. Frankly, the example people have posted in this thread aren’t that much better than the official version.
But better than most 2D animated girl designs I find in western shows.
Or it could be, you know, because the design is genuinely kinda bad. Especially compared to what some moderately-skilled fandom artists have produced.

Of course, she also became the monarch of her own empire and is much younger than Celestia and Luna in Equestria. In the human world I guess that could translate to L and C being long time school administrators and being middle aged, and Cadance could be fairly new to the gig, maybe a few years out of college?
Actually, I find her lack of eyebrows and childish attire more disturbing than the actual humanization.

Out of high school, yes, but she ain’t out of her 20s. This is what she looked like when she was babysitting Twilight and dating Shining Armor.
This is why she’s thought of more as a guidance councilor or young teacher in fanon. Not the principal of another school, she’s nowhere near Celestia or Luna in age.
