Sorry my brain does strange things at times.
…
That’s like saying “my mom can’t be that hot, she’s usually stoned by this hour!”
….
Forget what I just said. :x
That makes sense
No, it’s not that at all, Chrysalis and the other two were given a serious power boost from using Grogar’s bell, having some of its power distributed amongst them.

@Twi Clown
So we saw in the beginning of season 9 poor Chrysie was low on love magic mana power stuff, but she slowly regains her strength later in the season?
I wouldn’t be surprised if it was recarved into that other statue
Exactly. They have to be willing to change. Well, unless you used actual mind-control on them against their will, but that’s on the unethical side of things, which is why that’s not what happened, lol.

Oh well, you can’t help anyone who doesn’t want help.
||She never knew when to quit, and especially never when to take responsibility for failures. Not in S6, not in S8, and certainly not now. If she’d just let her grudge against everyone go after S6, Chrysalis could’ve disappeared into some corner of the world, had a relatively decent life after retiring from villainy… but she just had to run her life into the ground, because of her sociopathic brand of narcissism.
(Which it was really kind of her fault it failed, but it highlights the point of how she can’t take responsibility)||

Even in defeat, whereas Cozy and Tirek at the very least aknowledged that they were boned, Chrysalis just can’t stop her belligerent attitude despite she and her allies being neutralized an army against them.
When you get yourself in a situation where you’re surprised you beat Celestia off of stolen power, instead of waiting for backup in the form of your army before a confrontation?
Yeah, probably at least somewhat fair to say that.
I’d imagine some serious luck was involved with her getting an alternate timeline.

So Chrysalis has been all this time way over her head.
Chrysalis certainly isn’t as smart as she thinks she is, and the two-parter makes it very clear via the implication of what’s shown onscreen that if Chrysalis wasn’t significantly more powerful than Starlight when she was fighting her, like say, if she was instead fighting her back in The Mean Six? Chrysalis wouldn’t have had a snowball’s chance in hell of winning a magic duel with her, because Chrysalis actually kind of sucks at fighting. She seems like she mostly has experience with brute forcing her way past an opponent with her magic, but fight her with finesse and trickery, and you can outplay her all day long. You can also see that in how she was shown to have trouble taking Pinkie down, because she couldn’t hit her.
Her plan/execution in A Canterlot Wedding wasn’t too well-thought-out on multiple levels, up to and including leading Twilight to the real Cadance, and turning her back on threats.

Agree. I think Chrysalis is not all that smart nor competent and only got so far by parasiting others, either the army of changellings, the mean six or the legion of doom.
I think she depended heavily on her subjects to do the heavy deep infiltration business. I’d say she didn’t spend very long as “fake Candace” during the Canterlot wedding fiasco, she mostly took to her disguise once she thought her mission was almost complete.
You know, that’s something that baffled me about Chrysalis. Despite being a member of a race of shapeshifters that feed on love, something that could require some social skills, as well as the fact that lots of her plans involved subterfuge and saboutage, she can’t apparently afford to be a god actress, in fact, she barely tries at all.
Every character is secretly Chrysalis? Just teach her how to use time travel magic and let her go nuts with taking ponies form in one 30 minute episode, lol.
Uh, she did. Luster even wanted to drop out because how much emphasis friendship had on her studies.
She got better.
