So by barely failing to defend from Littlepip, Equestria knew they needed more technology and defences against unknown enemies, and Zebras were the facade. The circle is complete, wasn’t Littlepip came to kill her, no Equestria Wasteland would have been.

She is not immune to laws of time travel declared cannon by the show. One does not simply go back in time to accomplish a task because if they went to accomplish said task they would HAD Aready failed landing them in the same spot they are now in. Unless you are Elizabeth DeWitt you are not immune to the laws of time.
