How the hell did you come to the conclusion that Twilight Sparkle was True Neutral?

Chrysalis is definitely not neutral.

Discord is not Chaotic Good. He’s still totally selfish, it’s just that one of his selfish desires now is for ponies to like him, so he’ll moderate himself.
 
He was definitely Chaotic Evil before – I don’t believe he actually, literally, threw ponies into lakes of fire, because if he was willing to kill, we’d have seen it already. (Suspending them over such a lake and threatening them if they don’t play his game, yes. Actually do it, no. Dead ponies aren’t very much fun.) Very few ponies besides the Mane 6 suffered during Discord’s takeover of Ponyville… but that was because they’d gone mad, and were happy to be doing the crazy things they were doing, a la Granny Smith eagerly dancing and Big Mac happily digging holes. Driving people insane for your amusement is chaotic evil. You don’t need to be a murderous bastard; you can even take great care to be sure your victims never die, and still be chaotic evil if your motivation is “if I break all my toys, they’re no fun anymore!” I’m a huge Discord fan, and I still think it’s quite evident that old-school Discord was chaotic evil.
 
Nowadays he is not good, because his motivations aren’t “I want to do the right thing because it makes people happy” (Pinkie Pie is classic Chaotic Good.) But he’s not evil, either, because now he wants to be liked, and no one likes chaotic evil people. So he is definitely Chaotic Neutral now.

I think most people are talking about reformed Discord, not villain Discord. Ponies ( and whatever Discord is ) do change. That goes double if they are the spirit of chaos

He’s a crazy nutter, sure. He also was an cruel, selfish tyrant before he was reformed, out to turn Equestria into his personal playground to everyone’s detriment just because he said so.
 
I can’t wrap my mind about how easy it was for people to forget The Return of Harmony. It literally had a picture of Discord laughing madly as he throws ponies into the lake of fire on one of the stained glasses. I hope they do some kind of a flashback to Discord’s reign of tyranny so that the Discord Internet Defence Force gets Corrected The Fig Out.

I’d still say Discord is the crazy nutter, so chaotic neutral.  
I think our difference in interpretation stems from using the rules of different editions. I only played 2nd Edition. If they changed some of the concepts, then I don’t know what to say.

I’d say switch Luna and Celestia. Neutral Good characters are all about the greater good, with no preferences or limitations on how they achieve it. Lawful Good want to achieve the same goals, but by working within the structures of society, following tradition, reforming laws with bad side-effects, etc.
 
Twilight “Super-OCD” Sparkle is Lawful Good. All her stressing over protocol, wanting to fit in, etc. leaves very little room for interpretation.
 
Pre S4 Discord fits the CE allignment, while post S4 he’s Chaotic Neutral.
 
From what we’ve seen, NMM fits the Lawful Evil allignment. She does seems to have her own code of conduct and didn’t show any sign of wanting to destroy the existing social strcutures (accidental death through eternal night aside).
 
Whar Chrysalis did in ACW was Evil, no question about it. And Neutral Evil at it too.

Chaotic Evil aren’t psychopaths who enjoy destruction. Or at least not all of them That’s a common but flawed understanding of the alignment. Chaotic Evil people are utterly selfish people with no concern for anything but their gratification, not even a belief in some sort of an innate social order a Lawful Evil person would have to guide their actions. A Randian objectivist person is Chaotic Evil. Pre-reform Discord textbook Chaotic Evil. You guys are forgetting the entire part where he ruled Equestria with an iron fist turning it into his personal playground where ponies suffered for all his whims, too.
 
Fluttershy is Neutral Good, she literally can’t be anything less on the vertical alignment scale.

chaotic evil people are psychopaths, they are evil for the sake of evil, they enjoy destruction and the suffering of others.  
Discord is NOT chaotic evil.  
I don’t think the show really has a chaotic evil character, except perhaps Tirek  
Discord is a crazy dude who is unreliable and does his own thing. That is exactly what chaotic neutral is.
 
Twilight being true neutral is totally wrong too. True neutral is all about balance. The classic example is a druid who warns a local baron because the population of wolves is overrunning and hurting the forest. But once the baron has killed enough wolves the druid will stop the baron and protect the wolves.  
Twilight is good, beyond question. And her tendencies to be orderly and do things by the book, and her admiration of the princess all indicate she is lawful good.  
If anyone I’d take Fluttershy as true neutral. Not only because she’s often depicted as the druid of the group but because she tends to see things from all perspectives of everyone involved.

Sorry, I don’t think the D&D Alignment Chart really works with these characters. Even if it did, they’re all wrong.
 
Twilight, if anything, is Lawful Stupid due to her obsession with following rules above all else.
 
Discord would be Chaotic Neutral (post-reform), and I argue he wasn’t really evil pre-reform either.

Chrysalis being anything neutral is one of the stupidest things I’ve ever seen.

Discord/Luna: Chaotic good. Cadance/Twilight: neutral good. Nightmare: Chaotic evil. Chrysalis: neutral evil. I think everyone else is fine

I can agree with Sombra and pre-reform Discord. The others is very doubtful.

Swap Luna and Celestia. Contrary to popular belief, Lawful Good isn’t Good But Even Gooder. Luna is far more about tradition, law and order than Celestia, who is more just indiscriminately benevolent and doesn’t shy away from a prank beneath her stature.
 
Despite your fan wanks, Chrysalis is firmly in the evil camp. Probably Chaotic Evil. Ain’t much Lawful about her either.
 
Twilight Sparkle is 100% Lawful Good, while Discord ain’t Evil anymore, he actually shows selflessness (and DnD alignment is actually more of a selfish/selfess scale than objective good/evil anyway).
 
Sombra is prob. just a CE mook if you don’t consider the comics canon, not sure where I’d put comic Sombra. Probably NE. NMM would be LE.
 
Oozes have no intelligence score and are always True Neutral.
