I just saw that mixture of surprise and pain as basically Twilight thinking. “Celestia Damn it, why now?”
It’s more like they’re squished between two other pregnant mares, and the foals inside them are antsy as hell about the sudden change in space.
And with how hard they’re kicking going by Spike, not exactly what you call gentle.
