Thanks for the heads-up. I’ll have to check my local stores, but probably, in my country, the commercial policy is the same as Germany: They stop selling Ferrero Rocher or Mon Cheri chocolates in summer.

The one you’re thinking of is Kinder Joy, not Kinder Überraschung.
Kinder Joy is the variant that’s usually sold around summertime and has the weird half-and-half thing going on.

Kinder Überraschung is the original egg that’s chocolate with the prize inside. That one is sold in gas stations and supermarkets all around Germany all throughout the year.

Hey, guys, is it just me, or this EG Twily looks a bit off-model? In fact, I find her face looks more anime-like and attractive.

Oh, really? That’s weird, and somewhat disappointing.

The eggs in this picture, however, don’t look like the weird variant I had as a kid. At all.

Also, Kinder Surprise without the Surprise, that’s wrong.

I think nowadays Kinder eggs are like you describe by default: two containers. Alas, I think we lost the old ones.

As far as I remember, several years ago, at least in my country, the two container variant was marketed on TV as an “egg for adults” without the surprise, and it sold along the old ones.

“every 7th egg” doesn’t work with the 4x package, they have 2 figures guaranteed. so the 4x packages are the best offer here.

I’ve always wanted one of the original Kinder Surprise eggs — the variant we got where I live was an egg-shaped container, divided vertically.
One half had white and dark chocolate, and simulating yolks, a pair of bonbon-esque things (hazelnut covered in chocolate, idk it’s been too long) and the other half had the toy.

Most of my toys didn’t last my playing habits :p

The only figure I have (of the last egg I had, how depressing) is a Mr. Burns one :p

Ahhhhh, our dearest Kinder eggs. Their surprises are so sturdy I still keep some of them… Some are 25 years old! And the Happy Hippos were so collectables.
