To me fluffy ponies being herbivores is more than just about their being equines; it’s part of the whole theme of being total innocents completely maladapted to the brutality of nature. I guess my provisional headcanon is that fluffy ponies don’t need meat, they just eat anything that’s presented to them and their owners usually know nothing about what’s a healthy diet for them.
