Because truly the only course of action is to let the bear eat you instead of just flying away.
 
Grimdark isn’t an excuse for characters acting like idiots in order to make the darker premise work.
 
What would have been better Grimdark is if she gave the bear the rabbit and the bear, still being hungry due to the meager amount of food, suddenly attacks and kills Fluttershy. Then eats her.
 
At least that would have made some sense.
