I think he also is afraid of her. That’s why he like to annoy Twilight but he woudn’t dare to bother Celestia. He might have developed a fobia since she was the main reason of him standing still for 1000 years being fully aware of everything and never getting a second chance.
But everypony knows better. She’s wise, kind, lovely, and occasionally funny. She loves to have fun with her little ponies. She loves to make casual visits. She prefers wild parties over fancy ones like the Gala. And have you seen the way she eats cake?

You must be blind then to all the cues given both in the comic and the show. Not even the mane 6 are given this much “emotional connection” with each other and they’re the main characters!
Not all things have to be spelled out to the audience to be told. You can throw the “friend, friend” defend all you want, but even the mane 6 recognize how different the relationship is between Fluttershy and Discord and were off put by it at times.
Establishing an emotional connection between two characters is forcing a ship from now on!!!!!11111111
Anyone should have the same bland chemistry with eachother like Mane6 in Equestria Girls or else it will suck!

Forcing? There is only two episodes about them.
I think that suppose to be a typical reference to a salary man wanting to return to his family while portraying an evil boss. Like some kind of Ebenezer Scrooge and Bob Cratchit moment.
