“Occams razor.
Morbid obesity + yellow eyes = Late stage diabetic with liver damage presenting with jaundice”
Occam’s razor is such bullshit. The “simplest” explanation usually turns out to be the explanation you support. After all, such a connection would seem obvious, since you came up with it.
I doubt that there’s an objective way to determine what the simplest explanation is. I find it easier to believe that the color choice was a fluke and not a conscious decision by the colorists to indicate jaundice from liver failure.
True, I thought it was going to be one of those “A girl can’t be fat in a show for some reason” kinda thing. I mean think about it for a minute. Those other characters I mentioned were fat. So why not give her the same deign and size.
Yes, I know what jaundice is. Her eyes can just be like that naturally.
Eh, that’s your prerogative. But you’ll pardon me if I go with my own, less morbid (do ho ho) explanation.
Occams razor.
Morbid obesity + yellow eyes = Late stage diabetic with liver damage presenting with jaundice
I’m just saying it’s a bit silly to jump to the conclusion that she has jaundice when there’s a perfectly feasible and innocent explanation for it.
The whites of his eyes still look white in context. The effect there is done to make them stand out from his white coat, and is done with all the ponies with bright white coats for that reason.
This is not the same thing.
@Xaekai
But that’s been done before with other ponies. Just look at Shining’s eyes here:
Nelly’s are just more noticeable because they’re a more emphatic colour.
@pwingbrony
Do you know what jaundice is? I don’t mean she has golden eye color like Lyra, which she does, but the whites of her eyes aren’t white. They are yellowed, also known as jaundiced. A sign of liver damage, often a side effect of late stage diabetes or early pancreatic cancer.
Or, y’know, her eyes are just naturally like that. We’ve seen other ponies that have eye colors like that. And we’re talking about cartoon ponies here. And, most likely an unrealistic gag character. It depends on how you want to perceive this character.
What do you mean, jaundiced eyes? They’ve done that colour-bleeding thing before with Shining Armour and Prince Blueblood, y’know.
Unless that was a joke in which case disregard what I just said k thx
She’s clearly ill. Just because she’s happy doesn’t mean she’s not ill. She has jaundiced eyes fer fucks sake. She’s clearly late stage diabetes, with liver damage.

I think that Sugar Cube Corner just happens to use Erythritol instead of sucrose. It would explain Pinkies massive consumption with little effect.
I’m not sure Pinkie Pie should ever be the standard used to judge what is possible in Equestria. That said, it is nice to see that this character doesn’t seem too bothered by her size. Although I suppose it could always be something outside her control, like hyperthyroidism.
Also, I think we can all agree that regardless of size or shape, Rarity will probably make her something amazing to wear.
Well…to be frank, this is the most obese pony to appear in the show. She’s absolutely huge. The other fat characters aren’t nearly this big.
True, but why is that? I mean the puppeteer, Snips, and another pony are fat, but they aren’t “morbid”
I believe the reason for this is because she would look too morbid if she were more realistically proportioned. They wanted to make her look silly and ridiculous so that her appearance was more humorous.
