That she does. I noticed that one of the things to avoid making them look like rabbits is to give them the shorter, sharper ears like in the show.

That toed-hoof thing actually makes a lot of sense, considering that ponies occasionally pick things up with their forehooves. That and the fact that ancient horses had toes.
 
I might start using that, actually; I’ve been looking to do some experimentation with pony anatomy.
 
Also, this Rarity has a very boopable snootle.

Compared to other realistic depictions, this is probably the least nightmareish. To me, anyway. It doesn’t look like a real horse, but it looks biologically feasible enough to avoid uncanny valley.

And Rarity STILL looks gorgeous.

I suspect the mods do take this sort of thing into some consideration. I mean, they’re as human as any of us. And they know very well the unpleasantness of having to deal with users throwing tantrums. A few users every so often is easy to handle, but a swarm of several dozen all at once might tax the (completely volunteer) moderation team to an uncomfortable degree. And considering the +100k registered users (compared to the ~40 admins/mods/assistants), even a small fraction of users could add up to a lot.

If that’s the case, then why not do away with downvotes altogether and encourage people to report spam/trolling/shitposting uploads more strongly? Otherwise I think upvotes/downvotes read more like a like/dislike function… that’s what I always thought they were supposed to be honestly.

I can say this is genius. It looks like experiment 626….i mean it in a good way.  
The species seem to escape the “Equus Ferus” genre without leaving its ungulate character.(still a Perissodactyla,and I demand “Sapiens” in its name ahaha)

The point being the intention behind downvoting was primarily to mark trolling and shitposts. Obviously we fucked up when combining the “this is trolling” and “this is good” functions into one single integer.
 
But hey, it’s not like I haven’t been bitching about this constantly since before the site was even public.

These look really cool. I kinda wanna use this for my own designs, if the artist’d allow me to. I really like the concept with the wings, and how you can make out a paw-print in the palm, almost like Pegasi were originally 6-legged creatures that evolved to obtain flight. And the finger-hooves concept is a neat idea, allowing them to have at least a minor capability for gripping onto things. I don’t think they should be opposable, though, like someone else mentioned, or even have any kind of bendable knuckles, but just like a small ring of digits that can expand outward a bit to make room to grab onto something.
 
I do somewhat agree with others in this thread, a bit of the show’s artistic flair should be thrown back into this if one were to draw these designs for more casual applications. Might help it get away from the uncanny valley, as well as make them look a little more equine again rather than like rabbits. But in any case, I really like this.
