I want a Generosity twist to Secret of my Excess.

Greed magically turns him into a monster. Wonder what generosity turns him into.

^ He did in fact become at least a teenager though, and even with his mind gone he still outsmarted the Wonderbolts. At the very least it could be argued that the decrease in intelligence is a result of shock from immense growth over such a short time. Granted that’s not something that’s likely to happen again, and I already believe the age difference between Spike and Rarity to be almost entirely negligible, but BP makes a fair point.

He didn’t really become an adult in “Secret of My Excess.” He grew but his mind didn’t mature. Being big and greedy isn’t going to help him have a healthy relationship with an adult mare.

I dont think age will actually matter between two magical creatures with unidentified ages. I mean its not just a fan thing to go “boom! Spike’s an adult.” They did it in SomE, an actual episode.

I go by Dungeons & Dragons logic. Among Dragons many powers is shape-shifting. So if he ever gets too big he’ll just make himself smaller.

Yeah, back to the actual picture, Emily did a great job of humanizing Rarity and Spike. Apparently that kid cleans up nicely. As for the whole Sparity thing, this picture isn’t any more shippy than the show itself. So I don’t know why that’s an issue (there’s comments about that on the Deviantart page too).

^ It has a nice ‘flame’ look that I think suits human Spike well.

Anyone else think Spikes hair looks awesome or just me?

Age well I would say Spike is a teen but like 13 to 15 in pony years, if pony years is the same as human I mean for all we know their year is done in like four months.

I’ve always thought that Spike is around 15 to 17 and Twilight hatched him at about 5 or 6 and is at 20 to 22 now based on things Faust said.

To me Spike seems to be a teen or nearly a teen, because of how he acts, what responsibilities he’s given, and the fact that he identifies with teenage dragons in “Dragon Quest.” But I really doubt he’s as far into his teens as some people say. I’d guess 13 if I had to pick a specific number, with Twi being a tween when she hatched him and early or mid-20s now. But it’s all debatable, at least until there’s something in the canon.

Weird, pretty much everyone I talk to say the CMC are 10-11, since getting their cutie mark is like puberty.
 
And since the mane six are meant to be around 18 by Lauren Faust’s ideas for them, I assume that since Spike was born when Twi was around 11, he must only be like 6 years old now that she’s around 17-18.
 
How could he be 17 unless Twi is like 30 years old?
 
And surely dragons age SLOWER than ponies since dragons seem to live for thousands of years?
 
shrugs I just find it lazy when Sparity fans suddenly go “Boom, he’s 18, it’s not creepy anymore”.

It’s interesting seeing how different fans interpret the characters’ ages. I’ve seen Spike called as old as 17 and now as young as 6, and the C.M.C. are anywhere between 5 and 15.
