The problem is that some people have difficulty acknowledging these sorts of things are not absolutes: LyraBon, canon within comics, hell, canon within books; mostly due to Braze since I’ve yet to see anypony refute the possibility that Cadance was born a pegasus.

Yeah that last part is kind of what I was getting at really. It’s not that you can’t say/believe they are just friends, it’s just that given what we have seen in the show, that position is very weak at this point.

It also helps to know more about the background to the show. The original plot was about Vinyl Scratch ruining Octavia’s couch, and needing to get her a new one. Hasbro insisted on more for the fans. Hasbro, not the writers, put in the line about “I cooked them up, and ate them!” Because of their contractual requirement to avoid fanfics, the writers themselves actually had no idea what it meant until after. And no matter what it was or who put it in, everything that has gotten into the show has been okayed by Hasbro. The CEO of Hasbro when MLP was created (and by far the best CEO they had) was gay. And a member of the founding family. Hasbro is not at all an anti-gay company, although the market largely controls what they feel they themselves can get away with.
 
Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Cherry Jubilee, Twilight Sparkle, and Rarity (sort of; she only said so) have been seen using a restroom. Big MacIntosh plays with dolls – really seriously plays with dolls. And his fondest dream is to be a princess. Steven Magnet … is Steven Magnet. That’s all the show staff’s doing.
 
So both the show staff and Hasbro have approved everything we’ve ever seen of Lyra and Bonbon’s interactions. Every cheek rub, hug, snuggle, etc. has passed both of their reviews. And the central basis of the whole show is about breaking gender stereotypes. If you’re a girl who likes to study, you’re a girl. You can be a girl who’s into running a business; you’re still a girl. You can be a girl who’s into athletics, and still be a girl. So how is it remotely compatible with the show to insist that they could only mean, “if you’re a girl who likes other girls, that’s unacceptable. Go enjoy some sports or business or schooling or silliness, but don’t you dare like other girls.”?
 
No, they can’t really show Lyra and Bonbon getting it on. The market prevents that. But if they wanted to say, “Lyra and Bonbon definitely aren’t getting it on!” they could’ve given them both boyfriends. They didn’t. Both Hasbro and DHX pointedly didn’t. So, does this confirm beyond any reasonable doubt that Lyra and Bonbon are a couple? No. But it far more strongly suggests it than the contrary.

BonBon and lyra appears often close to each others since the show started…  
The image shows that Lyra belives in BonBon after crying. BonBon lifted Lyra’s chin because Lyre didn’t look into BonBon’s eyes. The gesture is “it’s okay now”  
The doctor and derpy are opposites. They are comedic together. Friendly hug, doctor leaves derpy with a “look at the time”, then sits next to rose.  
Vinyl and octavia are the 2 musician ponies. opposites in music classic contra modern but they can collaborate. They represent harmony between opposite styles, freedom of the arts and creativity. No “ew dubstep”. The image is just out of context.

Yes, that they’re banging. But the thing about implications is that they’re subjective enough that anypony can interpret it in any way they want. Indirect content will forever be the norm canonically, but direct content will remain in fan art, fan fics, and silly comments on image boards and YouTube.
 
Admittedly, explaining this sort of thing to a conspiracy theorist with an absymal knowledge of English is most likely pointless. XD

The writers hear about bunch of shippings. Hasbro has it’s own “agents” because they must know the animations because of the copyrights. But those arent the writers. Larson had a list what he had to include in the script somehow. Small things. Vinyl and octavia as roommates was one of the instructions, then Vinyl is mute was another. Is that shipping? I don’t think so.
 
What’s the reason if not the shipping? Much more compatible things.

Shipping fuel like… the rarity-fashion guy? Then Rarity often shows in this season how looks the attraction in mlp.

Hasbro made the ep100 because it’s free advertising and hype. But they don’t have to deal with the sexually interested half.

The death and grief is part of the life. “The shipping is a fan thing” (quote) for having fun with figures. Sure, you can bring it to headcanon and “if”s, but they said that the Apple parents are dead. If the kid asks the parent where are AJs parents, the parent says what wants to. Because its not the show’s task.
 
Basically the “that way” is in question. The one is a serious issue, the other is a fetish. This is a show about the sisterly love, care and harmony in friendship and family.  
The close BFFs arent so rare. They implying that BonBon and Lyra are close friends, basically BFFs. And that’s all. They don’t have to provide services for the bronies fad.
 
The show is from the view of the little girls. Because it’s made for them.

See here’s the thing using just the show and nothing but the show (no using what Lauren said) you could argue that AJ’s parents are not dead, they are just away so where estranged or lost somewhere (much like with Arnold’s parent in Hey Arnold!).
 
What makes the shippers any less valid than that interpretation of AJs parents? Because what you’re saying is basically; Yes they are implying that, but you’re crazy if you interpret it that way.

Lauren Faust said on half-official channels that she wanted Applejack’s parents to be dead. We don’t see them physically on the family reunion and Applejack says that the “whole family is here” or something like that. The question comes immediately: Where are the parents?
 
While the Lyrabon is “no-no-no they are friends”. And they show the small gestures like the rarity-guy.  
This is why is it biased. Because you see only what you want to see. The introduced keyword is the BFF. Girls who are very close best friends like sisters. Look it up. BFF

See to me it’s like Applejack’s Parents being dead, if you take just the show and nothing else it’s still pretty obvious that they’re dead. Heck I would argue you would have more of a case for them being alive then for Lyra and Bon Bon being friends and nothing more.
