He’s gonna do a lot more in Civil War.
You mean the 1 movie where he actually did stuff & the other 2 movies where his screentime amounts to an over-glorified cameo?
Yeah that’s a fair way to say Sam’s “just as useless as SF Aquaman” especially since he was nerfed in the MCU compared to his comic counterpart who not only had years of training with Captain America but can also communicate with all forms of bird life (even friggen alien birds!)
Shame about the latest FF movie. have the feleing Fox gave it to Josh Trank to fill his contract when they realized he was not a good director. These placeholder movies just poison the franchise and keep anyone from wanting to make a good film out of the material. And you could make a good film out of the FF, if you would just use the source material and not let some arrogant hack, who had only directed one fairly lousy film before, cast all his talentless buddies in the main roles.
I’ve been a big War Machine fan since I was a kid and I practically squealed when he showed up in Age of Ultron, so I’d say yes. XD
To be fair, Black Panther is a pretty politically active character, so if they’re making a movie of him they’re gonna have to bite that bullet anyway. And oh lovely, we all know how good copyright retention movies turn out. Fantastic 4, anyone?
I would totally watch a Luke Cage show, either way.
Here’s hoping his role in Justice League is truly truly truly outrageous.
Well they already have a black superhero in the Avengers franchise: War Machine. or doesn’t he count? (Not being sarcastic, just curious).
As for the others, I don’t think they’d do Black Panther because of the connotations his name brings up (political correctness, OK for comics but not big screen where returns are bigger) and I imagine there’s a Blade reboot due soon, if for no other reason than to keep the copyright. There’s a Luke Cage TV show in the works for Netflix, so I imagine they are saving him for that.
I agree with you that Falcon has been a missed opportunity, though. Would love to see a badass Aquaman on the big screen. Not bloody likely, but hey, you can dream…
Exactly. He’s had three movies to show his stuff and he’s not shown himself doing anything anyone else can’t. He’s slower at flight than Thor, less maneuverable than Iron Man, can’t outthink his opponents like Black Widow, has less fire power and accuracy than Hawkeye, and has less martial skill than Captain America. If they wanted a black superhero I can immediately think of Black Panther, Luke Cage, and Blade as more effective substitutes who would bring more unique talents to the fore, and picking this guy to replace Captain America is insane if they can’t be bothered to give him a good showing in three movies.
Really? Because we have yet to see him truly shine as an Avenger.
