Hell, maybe even have Twilight develop a way to stay an alicorn while going through to portal. Perfect way to solve your problem, with a God to directly kick the ass of evil.
Humane. No Mane 6 pony (outside of Twilight in the last minute teaser) appears. Its the Humane’s part-pony transformation magic that is sucked out.

Her device consumes all the Mane 6 magic, Cinch convinces it to use it on the last round, she goes Midnight Sprakle and greedily wants more. Why the device sucked in the magic and/or created the portals, not explained but I think that’s a MST3K Mantra thing, just “it did that”.
And the whole midnight sparkle deal?
If you took out the actual FGames competition, and just think “the schools challenged each other”, the rest of the story is straight forward. The Games were presented in such a confusing manner, on the other hand, with little explanation.
Is the storyline and friendship games confusing?
At this point in the movie, SPike the regular dog gained the ability to talk (involing those portals) and was pleading with Midnight Sparkle to stop what she was doing.
I just realized I put my comment wrong.
Because this is Spike the regular dog reacting to something with that face, then whatever is happening in the purple is not good whatsoever. So whatever you’re thinking of, don’t think about it. Unless if it’s run. Run for your life. If it is open for your life, then do it!
