I think Sunny had her own version of Rarity’s “darling” which was “dearie”. Also she was the only one to catch Cinch out when she tried to sneak away from Midnight Sparkle, so I suppose you could call her a stickler.

According to stuff I’ve read Flare’s thing was supposed to be “being a stickler for following the rules” a perfectionist in other words
 
Also Lemon Zest was supposed to be drill sergeant type character apparently

Most of the Shadowbolts got their personalities established well despite their lack of dialogue, especially Sugarcoat and Sour Sweet, but Sunny Flare was really a blank slate.
 
Hopefully this fandom’s talent for developing blank slate characters will be put to use with her.

Sadly, the big difference is that the Dazzling did not have an unlikely and unnecessary character to steal screen time from them. Seriously, my biggest beef is that while I like the movie, this could have been a much better movie had they ditched Cinch. Not only was she just an annoyingly petty villain that was completely unnecessary but I felt she took away any potential for the Shadowbolt girls.

Easily the biggest problem with this movie. It’s practically a whole rogue’s gallery shoved into one movie, with all of these neat looking characters who get no development. Just the most basic glossing over of their personalities. The 3 Dazzlings got a lot of screen time each and all had plenty of lines so we could get a better look at them.

I understand story-wise why they did it (Shadowbolts being underdeveloped), but it would’ve been nice to learn more about them in-movie.

Sunny Flare: “Well, I’ve got some bad news for you, freshman! I’m not effin’ Hinata! Got that?”

Yeah, that happens when you have that many villains and such limited time, and the Shadowbolts were ultimately just side-villains too. Still she is easily the least defined.
 
I mean If I had to guess she would of also been into Fashion and stuff, but unlike Rarity who is a character designed to subvert a bunch of the traits of the sterotypical mostly negative fashionista archetype,she’d play them straight. I don’t freaking know, maybe she’d of just been greedy in general.

Yeah I got that in the opening when they paired up the rivals and I get that there wasn’t time to go in too deep with all the new characters personalities  
But they all got something some kind of quirk to grab onto expect for her

She was supposed to be Rarity’s opposite but she got by far the least to do so it’s not really apparent.

I got what all the other Shadowbolts personality traits were but was her’s? Is she supposed to be the leader?
