The same reason Spanish uses the same word for finger (dedo) and toe (dedo del pie). It’s just how the language developed.
I mean identical twins, why the English language uses the same word for “mellizos” (different twins) and “gemelos” (identical twins)?
Pretty sure that twins can have different genders.
That still doesn’t explain why she is female…
Maybe she fell into a tub of bleach.
Not, that fluttershy is somehow Button’s twin.
What implications? That Fluttershy died from heart disease?
