Well, the worst a Element of Magic Possessed!Sunset did was try to blow up our heroes.

Meanwhile, Midnight Sparkle was a direct threat to reality itself.

To my knowledge, it’s very rare that finished games actually have their vocal tracks removed when they are remastered and/or remade. The only one I can think of that actually did so was the Gamecube remake of MGS1, and that was because the old tracks had background noise the Gamecube audio could pick up that the PS1 couldn’t.

S.E. could have pissed off fans by changing the voices from KH1 who grew up with the originaal 2002 voices (tho the sudden change from Zane to Epcar from 1 to 2 was too jarring I admit). Re:CoM was lucky they even released it for PS2 (in America only IIRC).

Hell, the whole ReMixes are still a surprise they even got made with how long S.E. basically said “Tough sh*t” when fans asked for the Final Mixes. So we basically gotta live the idea that Sora suddenly went through puberty before reaching Castle Oblivion and that Amsem S.O.D. was actually Bato all along instead of the bad guy from Titanic.

“They might age him back down somehow to compensate Leonard leaving.”

If by leaving you mean having to compensate for Master Xehanort’s Japanese AND English voices dying within the same quarter.

It was only recently that some of the V.A.s revealed that S.E. didn’t call them in to do 3 work when they re-recorded dialogue for 2.5 ReMix. They could have done this last year before the two voices for the main friggin’ villain passed away.

Midnight was trying to cause all that destruction. That was her goal.

Sunset only caused enough destruction to get what she wanted. Had she gone as nuts as Midnight, I’d wager she could have. She had more experience with the stuff, whereas Midnight was just high on magic, thrusting it in it’s pure essence to do what she wanted. Sunset was using selective spells, mostly fire based. It’s possible she can’t do such as easily as Midnight, because she’s Twilight who’s special talent is magic, at least not so easily.

Sunset Shimmer was the only Equestrian Girls character with no canon counterpart (even Flash Sentry has one) so she forced Twilight to accept the darkness so that she could steal her body and open a portal to Equestrian in order to survive the destruction of the last Equestrian Girls movie.

I don’t know, even if the wings were more feathery, they kinda looked sinister, and kinda crooked still like a “bird of prey,” or something. So it was nice they’re getting more creative with the designs, and she still looked quite cool/evil to me.

It’s also a bit debatable who was more of a “threat.” While “Demon Sunset” wanted to conquer, and only destroy those/things that get in her way, Midnight Sparkle went completely nuts with her thurst for knowledge of magic even if it meant destroying everything around her.
Basically, both evil forms amplified their worst character traits. While Sunset (before her heel-face-turn) wore her nastiness on her sleeves before said transformation, human Twi’ seemed to repress her negative traits instead, and as a result isolated herself. Then all the negativity/nastiness she received from others all came out, and were amplified when she became Midnight Sparkle. So it’s kinda interesting that she wasn’t exactly a villain, but unintentionally becomes one.

Not saying one is “more evil/threatening” then the other, just a thought.

Well I think that Twilight was less evil in her “demon transformation” than sunset was. Manly because of her wings and her overall appearance. Probably because she was peer pressured into it in the first place, and she just couldn’t handle the power and was overwhelmed by it. It consumed her and corrupted her.
While Sunset was evil and she wanted to misuse the power of the element of magic. It brought for her inner demon. But the elements of harmony purified her again.

I wouldn’t say Sunset’s daemon form is weaker per se. It’s actually close to a usual daemon you’d expect from hell. Given her claws, fangs, and larger size, she’d be hell of an opponent close up.

Twilight’s is akin to a fallen angel however, focusing more on magical power. Both of them would honestly have equal footing if they faced off, though Sunset had experience and the actual Element of Magic fully in her grasp, while Twilight is more of a mishmash.

Looking at this, I’ve realized how much better Midnight Sparkle looks compared to Sunset Satan
