But when you take both to zero, that’s when you just get a derivative, which usually isn’t infinity or zero.

Power, P = ΔE/Δt, where ΔE is change in energy, and Δt is change in time.
 
If we take the limit as the interval Δt -> 0 from larger Δt values, and leave ΔE constant, then
 
lim _Δt->0+ ΔE/Δt = dne
 
“dne” means “limit Does Not Exist,” or, you could otherwise say; “unlimited.”
 
As you can see, though, this doesn’t actually imply infinite energy, just an infinitely small time interval…
 
I mean, if we take ΔE -> inf, then that would be “unlimited power” as well, but saying “unlimited power” could either mean ΔE -> inf xor Δt -> 0 - note I said “xor,” because if you take both ΔE -> 0 and Δt -> 0, then in many cases you’ll just end up with the derivative dE/dt =/= inf.
