And much like Tarkin, she was ultimately overshadowed by the imposing, black wearing, magic using villain who eventually gets redeemed.

The Imperial emblem earrings are a nice touch.
 
Yeah, for what she represented in the Friendship Games, Cinch pretty much was Tarkin-levels of scary. I can also imagine that, if she could get away with it, she too would blow up Canterlot High School with a superlaster, or at least have two under performing Crystal Prep students beheaded in front of the others to serve as motivation
