The reason we can see red is because it was a positive adaptation for our primate ancestors to be able to see the color as it allowed them to identify ripe fruit, which is easier to digest.

Horses don’t have a blind spot directly in front of them, they have a blind spot directly in front of and BELOW them.
 
Also, this is assuming Equestrians have the same eye problems as Earth’s horses.
