I admit I was expecting Friendship Games would explore Sunset’s homesickness and was rather upset when they made a song about it but it got cut from the film. It’s too good of a story arc to waste. They can’t seriously say they didn’t put it in just because they didn’t like the idea she was unhappy with her life in the human world. They had Twilight go through Tartarus before things got better for her.
 
Now, I’m not she has to be unhappy. I just think it’s important to explore how much she misses Equestria. Maybe a side of her that wants to reconcile with Celestia who undoubtedly misses her. Also, rather she decides to go back or to stay, the decision she makes will have its ups and downs.
 
Sooner or later, they’ll have to admit there must come a day when Sunset is having trouble figuring out where she belongs, leaving it to her heart to lead her home. Since the next movie will probably take about a year to make, and that’s a pretty long time, maybe they’ll see it like that and put it in. I sure hope so.

I wouldn’t say Friendship Games was better then Rainbow Rocks, just different. Both movies gave a refreshing amount of both awesomeness and maturity with no safety nets that hadn’t been shown in show for a while, but they demonstrated different aspects about the characters that led to different build ups.
 
I would say Rainbow Rocks was overall more entertaining, but they were equally good movies.
 
And on this announcement, this totally(almost) lets me forgive them for cutting out Sunset’s song about Equestria from the 3rd movie, if a 4th movie is going to allow even greater focus on that. I mean, it makes sense that Sunset wants to become a good mentor for Human Twilight before she returns as the ‘prodigal daughter of Equestria’. They wouldn’t want Sunset to feel she had to put her life she left in Equestria on hold for Sci-Twi.
 
I also hope they bring back the sirens and possibly more humanoid creatures from mythology.

In any case, I’m just gonna sit back and assume that the fourth movie will involve Dancing All Night in some fashion.

The school in general has a beef with losing because they lost to Crystal Prep in everything. I’m sure the school district has more competitive leagues and events that both schools compete in than the Friendship Games themselves, and that would be why they have a big beef with losing to Crystal Prep.

To be fair to it, the solution they came up with for opening the portal whenever was way better than it had any right to be. And the Dazzlings got their balls shown on stream. How do you exit that without flaccidly fleeing?

Now all we need is Rarity having a crush on Flash Sentry, only for Flashy boy to run off like a chicken.

Also the Mane 6 and Ponyvillians are there because Celestia has been reading Twilight’s letters to her. The reason they appear correctly is because when she entered her mind, Twilight’s subconscious auto-corrected the appearance of the Mane 6. The Shadowbolts are what Sunset thought the Mane 6 were when she didn’t understand them and couldn’t keep their information straight.

Ok new headcanon: Sunset Shimmer is in a coma after falling during her initial flight from Celestia’s authority, and the EQG world is her dream that Twilight went into to try to reach her. Twilight tries to play it off like a real alternate dimension so Sunset doesn’t have a meltdown.

Well considering how the Friendship Games happens once every 4 years (which is the average length of High School) and the girls seem to have a really big beef with losing, we can only assume that no one ages in that world and they are stuck in high school forever.

Don’t be silly, I’m a genius. It’s just that, as a genius, I don’t have time for such petty concerns such as ‘paying attention’ or ‘noticing things’. I’m far too busy being a genius.

They’re never going to graduate. They’d already had three Fall Formals in the first movie, and the Dazzlings were banished to the human world ages before the events in Rainbow Rocks. Space is warped and time is bendable. Besides the whole thing is Hasbro’s answer to Monster High.
 
Of course the events could still take place outside the school. I want to see the Shadowbolts again, like maybe Chrysalis takes over CPA and starts replacing students one by one, and the human six plus Sunset Shimmer have to come to figure out what’s going on.
