Apparently Hasbro has seen the petition but it’s just a rumour. It’s at 265 signatures now.

There might be an actual argument for them not being Sirens any longer, though not for any of the possession stuff. During the post-battle wrap-up, Twilight says of them, and I quote: “Without those pendants and the magic you brought here from Equestria, they’re just three harmless teenage girls.” How much weight you lend that statement (based on “would Twilight really know for sure”?) and how literally you choose to take it may have an effect on your interpretation, but it’s there.
 
As for headcanon, mine is simple: Wherever those three are now, they’re pissed. And in the off-chance we ever see them again, I don’t expect to be proven wrong.

You can’t make factual statements about the characters in the show based on a headcanon. I have several headcanons, but I make absolute care to never bring them up when discussing things within the canon of the show.  
And when I do bring them up, it is only to illustrate an over-arching connection since I don’t pull things out of the ether.
 
Using headcanon to justify an argument is little more than saying “I think it should be like this.” It holds no weight in any argument.
 
hell, I’ve got a giant-headcanon dump in the forums that ties the entire sunset shimmer plot, ánd twilight sparkle long-term plotlines seemlessly together. Go have a read, if you’re interested in headcanons this might be a nice addition.

This is my current headcanon, but I don’t transpose it over the show, and I don’t use it as an argument that holds any authority. To me, this entire headcanon is just an excersize in theory-crafting.
 
and lastly; referring to them as “the sirens” rather than “the dazzlings” is a minute difference. we both know which group of three girls we’re talking about here, whether we refer to them as sirens or as dazzlings.

I disagree completely.
 
First off, they’re not sirens anymore. In my headcanon they’re actually just average girls who were possessed by the sirens after coming across the amulets. So the “Dazzlings” is the best way to refer to them IMO.
 
Secondly, I don’t think they should only have a one time appearance. Not even close. They were far more powerful and memorable than most villains in the series (both FiM and EqG), I’d even dare to say they were better than Chrysalis, Sombra and Tirek. Their only real competition was Starlight Glimmer, and even then she’s barely at their level. Why do I say this? Because they worked hard, and as a team (albeit dysfunctional) to achieve their goals. They weren’t all powerful to begin with, and they didn’t have any help to gain it all back. They were on their own to set out and recover their lost power. And you know what? They did it. And they did it well. Besides, their singing is phenomenal.
 
Thirdly, they are the most likable villains for a lot of people, hence why they’ve remained incredibly popular in fan art and such. I see a lot more content to do with the Dazzlings than I do with any of the three FiM villains. With good reason too. They are extremely evil, but at the same time, they have their own unique personalities, which were developed extraordinarily well for an hour and a half movie. Plus, since their personalities were all very different, it made it comical as well.
 
Just my opinions.

The funny thing is, “Dazzlings” is the wrong word to describe them. That was their band name. They’re actually called “Sirens”.
 
That aside, I wouldn’t sign it even if it was “Bring back the Sirens!”
 
It also sounds better as “Bring back the Sirens” but whatever.
 
As much as I love the girls and their singing, I don’t think that it will be worth it bringing them back, unless they do a TV Series of EG, and even then, they’re likely only to have cameos.

….those three are one of the few reasons i tolerated Rainbow Rocks.  
Still, i don’t like them enough to want to see them again that badly.

As much as I like the dazzlings…. I’m not gonna sign. As an artist I just have too much respect for the artists behind the show/movies to impose my own will on them without them asking about it.  
I would have signed it if the cast/artists behind the movies and show would’ve asked “Who should we bring back?”  
But this change.Org petition is basically imposing idea’s of the crowd on the creative freedom of the artists, and I really don’t want to be a total hypocrit.  
If you truly like the show, then let the guys(and girls) behind it just do what they do best. Trust them to to do the right thing.

Truth be told I’d rather see more of the Shadowbolts. The Dazzlings were awesome, but we already got a full movie with them. The Shadowbolts were barely in FG.

Do these things even work? I mean, I wouldn’t object to more Dazzlings but internet petitions make me sceptical.
