Bloatsprites are actually bloatflies.
I think each of those has an analog in Kkat’s Fo:E… Cazadores -> Bloatsprites, Death claws -> Hell hounds, and there was one traveling merchant who had a pet Yao Guai IIRC. Tho I’m pretty sure Mars said this comic wasn’t exactly based on Kkat’s Fo:E.

After recently finishing another playthrough of that game, I’d have to say that both kinds of raiders are around. It is true though, the classic games had more (kinda) sane raiders.
They’ll all try to shoot you dead though, of course.

That’s because in the Fallout world, people start off with the idea that they’ll be forced to deal with situations on their own. They tend to encounter others only if they NEED to, and spend a lot of time surviving off the land with other skills.
It makes sense that they don’t care much for Charm in comparison.

True, but they still weren’t too keen on anyone denying them their needs, including those kind of needs, I would imagine. It’s not that they were innocent lambs: they still survived via fucking up other people’s chances of survival, so I doubt they would be dissuaded from anything by making puppy eyes at them and/or bawling one’s eyes out.

I still have the impression that this bunch of stallions are pretty new to the wasteland and were just bantering about being the mean, scary raiders to keep their own spirits up.
It saddens me that so many people do that. Charisma sure works for Venus.
