Silver Spoon is one of the most inconsistently written characters in the entire series (to the point where she barely qualifies as a character). In some episodes, she comes off as a follower, while in others she’s a Xerox of Diamond Tiara. The phrase “depending on the writer” pretty much describes her character.
 
Speaking of Karma Houdini, TexasUberAlles and I had a discussion a little while back about how Silver Spoon should’ve been used for One Bad Apple instead of Bad Babs Seed (as well as some other issues pertaining to the fillies characters):

I don’t know, I prefer to think Silver Spoon is just as responsible for her actions, as Tiara is for her, and is no better/worse then her “leader” is. (I kinda hope both of them shape up & become nicer when they get older though.)
 
Otherwise, she’d just be another Babs Seed.

Lol, nah, I kid, but really she’s really just following Diamond Tiara, and DT is just a filly bully, still has plenty of time to come around, learn to deal with her emotions in non-destructive ways and grow up.
