It’s not really meant to be funny. When people say “having your feelings hurt makes you subhuman” or “acknowledging these issues is a thoughtcrime”, they aren’t doing it out of any sense of honest amusement, they’re doing it to attack a point of view they consider offensive. There’s no point in telling them that their hate isn’t funny, because the mere fact that it’s hateful makes it funny (and places it above critique) by default.

Smug ass faces are so fucking smug. That has to be the funniest part of the comic. “We are SO totally aware and making a joke of it, haw-haw. Prove us wrong.” It’s that type of face that takes a joke someone made years ago and tries to passive it off like it’s their own work of genius. It’s the face that is so full of itself you just want to punch it in the face, and I love that face. It’s funny, for all the wrong reasons.
 
I actually think that’s what sets the whole comic off for me, the poor delivery on such a poor joke was so poor it loops around to become something great in my eyes.

That was directed at the comic not you, you said explain the joke which means the comic failed at humor hence the joker pic.

The quotes around the word “joke” was meant to convey that I didn’t think it was much of one.  
Thus I felt no remorse as I tried to dissect it.
 
Because the after would be just as funny as the before.
 
So yes, I explained the joke because there is no joke.
