Dr. Mobius is that you?
I kinda hope the upbringing being the reason for how Diamond’s family is goes back like twelve generations to one pony who was raised just fine but decided to be a jerk anyway, for no raisin.
Maybe.
I just know that they redeemed Discord, Gilda, and Trixie, who are all adults. I wouldn’t rule out Diamond’s mother getting redemption at some point too.
It does show us adult bullies/jerks (such as her mother), so while it doesn’t clearly illustrate your point, it is touched upon that some people will be assholes their entire lives.
Maybe its because I had experience with bullies myself and they never showed remorse for what they did. I’m not saying that bullies are just like serial killers, I’m just saying that some people never change, whether it’s someone who is merely a jerk or someone who is outright evil.
But hey, the show already decided that Diamond Tiara should be good now, so it’s a moot point.
I certainly can.
Oh, look; a link to it can be found here –> The Diamond Exchange
Not that I think they need to, I’m just saying that they could do it.
All I have to say is she’s a child if you want to apply that logic to say Sombra that’s fine but a child is a little too much to use that kinda of thinking on there’s always a chance a child can be helped.
Well, yeah that’s kind of my point - no one every truly sees themselves as “the bad guy.” Doesn’t justify their actions or mean they shouldn’t be stopped, but it does go a way towards explaining why they do the things they do.
@Hackron
Well yes, I would say it’s a rather dark and ludicrously extreme example to compare a run of the mill schoolyard bully to a friggin serial killer, and conclude that because the latter is irredeemable then the former is as well.
Besides, if kids are being told to believe that the Spirit of Chaos and Disharmony is redeemable, it would be rather ridiculous to suggest to them that Diamond Tiara isn’t.
Have you ever read about serial killers like “the night stalker”? Some of these people openly said “I’m evil, and I like hurting people”.
I know this is a rather dark example, but I am just trying to make a point. Some people are well aware that what they are doing is wrong, but don’t care, or even are proud of it.
Even the most evil and rotten people think they’re doing good.
Kids should be made aware that some people really are just rotten to the core.
That doesn’t sound very good I hope they don’t do that in the show a lot of people watch the show because it makes them feel better that just sounds like a major downer and very pessimistic and really has no place in a show like this.
Have another Sombra that talks, who can deny them
so it will have some impact when they ‘accidentally’ murder him.And more than likely, they won’t.
How are they going to get THAT kind of message across?
Some people are just jerks and are always going to be jerks. They’re happy that way. In real life many bullies don’t get better, they just become adult bullies.
Some people just can’t be, or don’t want to be, redeemed. I feel like this is something the show should address, but hasn’t.
Oh, and sorry for my bad english…
