Still a better ending than-
Oh forget it. I’ll have more to gripe about that come E3 this year
FIVE FUCKING YEARS
Nah, since no one knows the exact mechanics behind getting cutie marks, it’s always believable that someone might not get their cutie mark. Maybe they’ll get the Equestrian record for oldest ponies without cutie marks.
Never knew what it was. Just humored him/her.
Oh, that one you mean. Mass Effect. I thought of something else possible to fit your description.
@atalarikt
Can you tell me what it is?
If someone doesn’t know the series by a description of the premise, they’re sure as Tartarus not gonna know it from one line. Name, plz.
Ah, that series. Eh, don’t know it well enough to have an opinion.

Hint: Go ask anyone on here “What does Ebalosus like to always talk about to the point of insufferability?“
…nope, doesn’t ring a bell.
I’m more of an EqG guy, but I don’t recall ever knowing that one existing in MLP.

The arc in the story that is ostensibly about stopping killer robots from galactic genocide, but in the last 10 minutes turns into solving the completely artificial dichotomy between synthetics and organics.
Er, what arc is that?
What is it, I wonder?
When the series started, it felt like they were around 7 years old. Now it feels like they’re closer to 10 or 12 years old.
Sorry, meant to add this in. In the case of RD and Tank’s ‘first winter together’, I imagine Ponyville had a few dry winters between the relevant episodes.
Taking into account the chapter books and the EG films, the placement of major events like the Gala, and mentions of/events tied into seasons of the year (Tornado Day, Summer Harvest Parade), that sounds about right. So far, I’ve come up with this timeline. Some of it had to be tweaked for logical reasons (i.e. “Fall Weather Friends” occurs before “Winter Wrap Up”).
S1: Summer 1000 - Summer 1001
S2: Fall 1001 - Spring 1002
S3/EG: Spring 1002 - Fall 1002
S4/RR: Spring 1003 - Summer 1004
S5/FG: Summer 1004 - ???
Not quite sure how to handle Season 5 yet, though tempted to place “Scare Master” before “Tanks for the Memories”.
Oh, I’d agree we really don’t know how many years have past, but when people say “1 year” that’s the mark they’re basing it on, in addition to, for example, RD discovering Tank’s hiberation meaning this would have been the first winter since “Find a Pet”. (But then that throws out where Hearth’s Warming Eve happens).
Realistically, I treat it a year per season.
There could have been galas that happened off screen but had no reason to be depicted in an episode as nothing important happened at them. I think it’s more realistic to say that 2 or 3 years have gone by in the show’s timeline.
We’re implying a year between GGGalas, so from end of S1 to S5 is a year based on that logic.
