Technically, as everyone seems to have pointed out, it’s correct.
 
“ONE of the mane 3 CMC will get their cutiemark at the end of this season”
 
Meaning > or = to one. If the phrase said,
 
“ONLY ONE of the mane 3 CMC will get their cutiemark at the end of this season”
 
Then it turns into, well obviously a outcome only equal to 1. Therefore they were correct on a mathematical standpoint. Correct me if I may be wrong.

Since the Beginning -

My headcannon was that they three would fix the season finale’s problem against Starlight Glimmer: something about everyone lossing their cutiemarks and they teaching everyone that not having a cutiemark didn’t mean lossing what was special on you; therefore everyone would re-gain their cutiemark since it is something “untouchable” because is a part of who you are and they would earn their respective cutiemarks by then.
