Oh I’m sorry, they didn’t blow up another library, get into a dbz-ish fight scene, call Dr. Who, step through a stargate, or run into an epic struggle for the fate of equestria.
 
 
They just gave two characters depth,made many veiwers cry at DT’s song, made a character that had been built up for 4 seasons as someone your supposed to hate suddenly sympathetic and likable with a legit reasoning to back it up,introduced several new characters, AND the CMC got their cutiemarks. Did i meantion a shitload of character development as well?
 
But you know, nothing great happened in this episode.

This episode did something the show hasn’t done since A Canterlot Wedding- it pulled out a massive twist that hadn’t been given away by the trailers at all. I could have predicted Diamond turning good, but Silver Spoon’s development? The reference to Applejack’s parents? The CMC finally, after five years, getting their marks?
 
This was spectacular. Much like Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep, it was a finale-worthy episode that we didn’t have to wait until the end of the season for. And with episodes like this thrown into the middle of the season… what do they have planned for the end?

QFT. This was satisfying, but Maud’s napalm strike was hilarious and unexpected.
 
But yeah, they gave Silver Spoon a backbone! Character depth! Diamond Tiara became at moderately sympathetic and experienced character development! SPOILERs!

I swear this episode basically redeems Silver Spoon for me, and Diamond Tiara as well
