The chromatic aberration makes this image hurt my eyes to look at.

Ah, okay, thanks, I’d seen the Midnight Blossom and Cloud Skipper pics (some of my favorites, btw!) and read a oneshot fic but always felt like something had gone over my head. Doubly so after seeing other people’s reaction here. Thanks for clearing that up!

Well, after two years of art with this odd couple,  
 
 
Ships sailed.
 
And then when we saw  
 
it was the headcanon shot heard around the small community. I mean, if you imagined the above two falling and love and having a kid, this last pony would be exactly that.
 
But, apparently, it’s not, hence this headcanon being silenced. Although the news another foal is on the way of the same ship put some wind in the sails.

Not as such - if there is an overarching story, Equestria-Prevails is the only one who knows it all, and the tease ain’t telling.
 
However, Florence(the baby white bat pony in the picture) was for a long time assumed to be the daughter of Cloud Skipper(the pegasus colt above) and Midnight Blossom, a female Bat Pony who’s been in a lot of more or less shippy images that EP has drawn. Florence being Cloud Skipper’s sister didn’t sink the ship, but left any potential offspring in limbo.

There seems to be a bit of disgruntlement in the comments. Was this part of some overarching story I was unaware of?

Agreed, the picture is great. Teeny tiny Florence and widdle Cloud Skipper are adorable. And the whole creased effect on the photo, like a cherished picture a soldier would keep in his pocket… awesome and poignant.
 
And hey, I wouldn’t call the Midnight Blossom/Cloud Skipper ship sunken… we just don’t know what their adorable half-bat abominations would looks like yet :3

I’m going to need at least a few more days to calm down from the butthurt before I can start watching EQP again.  
Until then he’ll have to bear the title of Worst Artist.

Sunken ships aside, you gotta admit it’s an adorable arse picture. :D Plus Florence being Skippers (possibly foster) sister isn’t such a bad thing
