It’s possible they’re mixing the g1 look.
Okay, so what gender is Shadow Storm? No lashes and a slightly more cubed snout suggests stallion, but Black Belle’s got the same kind of snout shape as well.
Based on the other cover, I think you have Shadow Storm and Black Belle reversed. The one with black markings has a flower with a bell-like shape cutie mark, hence why that makes me think she’s Black Belle (despite having colored hair). The one that’s nearly all grey-tones would then by Shadow Storm.
But that’s only guessing. (Violet is easy)
Interestingly, I just noticed Shadow Storm has a weirdly shaped horn. If the previous synopsis remained what it is. They could possibly be artificial creations. Even Black Belle here has a abnormal sclera.
So I was right. Well then, all I can say is this…
