I meant that they said that around the episode.
Obviously, they adopted it much earlier.
IIRC they were calling them pegacorns earlier, but later became fond of the term the fandom used.
It was winged-unicorn-shaped.
And the creators of the show confirmed that they adopted the term some time around that episode, maybe before it even aired, I don’t remember.
Sidestepping all of this is simple denial.
The context from Duel came across as referring to the source of a unicorns magic, rather than wings. I’ve seen mythological bestiaries refer to the horn of a unicorn as alicorn. I haven’t heard of winged unicorns being called alicorns until this fandom, and that usage doesn’t seem to be near as old, and until this fandom, as common.
I’ve just never cared for the word. Not a big deal.
Winged Unicorns.
Also the word refers to the material that unicorn horns are made of.
So ‘Alicorn’ is one of those ‘mmultiple related meanings’ types of words.
You do know that there is a mythological being that is called that right? Guess what it is.
He’s not acting…
It was already confirmed in Magic Duel, stop acting like an idiot.
Winged earth pony with a horn.
