Remastered? Where can I see?
Someone on deviantart made a fan sub . But you’d need to download a video of the movie and sync the subs to watch it then.
I can definitely see the ‘MLP’ resemblance in this scene, it reminds me of G1 cartoons.
@bigladiesman
G4 MLP style seems a bit more like unico. Except for the strange design of Unico’s nose.

Inés Geldstein? Better take note of her name, then.
Probably the reason why Ico and those shorts are standing out is thanks to Ines Geldstein’s writing. I also watched Trapito and Manuelita after I found out about Ico, and Garcia Ferre as a writer didn’t really do such a great job there to be honest.
Fair point.
Absolutely not. I think it’s more of a coincidence.
The same can be said about Osamu Tezukas’s Unico, a Sanrio (Japanese toy company) property. He’s around here, too, search him.

You think this movie was how MLP got started?
I’ve only seen fragments of it. It has a couple of nice songs and is technically quite impressive for a small-scale project. When it came to feature movies, García-Ferré tended to be overly sentimental, and as such, some of them end up being a bit sappy.
Also, Ico and Preciosa are damn cute.

Any thoughts on Ico?
No. He was created in 1964-65 and, in fact, started as an inaffectual anti-villain who over time turned into a good guy. This Argentine version of Goofy was the creator’s pet and stayed as a jack-of-all-trades in many of his movies.
That said, Mr. García-Ferré was not widely known outside of South America, and if I know him (despite being actually born in my country) is because my little bro was obsessed on a VHS with another movie from this man: Trapito, the story of a nice jeeper creeper. He put it on EVERY DAY! I still hate it to this day.
When I got older, I checked on this damn film online, and, would you know, after checking García Ferré’s works (Ico included), while I still despise most of his movies, his television shorts from the 60-70s are tremendously funny, which goes to show that sometimes, less is more.
