Well I have always supposed the Shadowbolts in the canon were created by Nightmare Moon, but if she had this idea, I assume other pegasi that were outcase or just had dark tendencies could easily form an actual flight team opposed to the Wonderbolts. Lightning Dust seems to fit this bill perfectly.

Strangely many really seem to think that Shadowbolts are some actual flying team. Not sure why. I know there are many people in fandom who don’t really watch the show itself and are in it more for the fan created content which may cause some misuderstandigs about what is canon and what is not but still…
