actually her plan worked pretty well up until the point when her disguise’s childhood friend/honorary, and now in-law, little sister showed up and saw that she was no longer acting like herself. her real mistake was when she got cocky, taunted twilight by revealing that it was a ruse, and then threw her into a cave instead of killing her, or actually locking her up, or at least doing something to block her and the real cadence’s magic. also, throwing her in with the real cadence, even if they were in separate rooms, was quite foolish. then instead of just retreating without revealing exactly what she was, she could quite easily be a master of disguise instead of a completely unique species after all, she removes her disguise and launches a full frontal assault with an army more geared towards reconnaissance and assassination.
 
TL;DR she got cocky and screwed herself over by not sticking to her own plan, which was actually pretty decent.

My guess is their heads are full of holes, but good luck finding a kid-friendly way of explaining that. XD

Um… you might want to think that scheme through a bit more, my queen… far be it for ME to question your intents, but this doesn’t sound like it’d succeed so well… o_o
