The event of a total solar eclipse is extremely rare in the kingdom of Equestria; however, one thing was always certain in the event of one: The princesses of the Sun and Moon would disappear without a trace for the entire duration of the eclipse. One would search far and wide in an attempt to reach them, but it would always turn up fruitless.
 
The newly adorned Princess of Friendship sought out the two monarchs in the wake of the most recent eclipse. Her magical prowess had been greatly honed under their tutelage, so she had actually been able to find the two of them.
 
Upon approaching the two of them, the young alicorn has a stunning revelation: Just as the sun and the moon come together to create a phenomenon that one can consider almost unnatural, so too did the deities that controlled them…
 
The Princess of Friendship understood. She understood WHY the two princesses would always vanish in the event of an eclipse.
 
This conflict…  
This fusion…  
This winged being…
 
It was a sight that can make even the most imaginative of minds begin to break, and the princesses would not bear to bring upon their subjects such a burden.
 
The Princess of Friendship had always relied on the two of them for help and guidance on whatever she would need. Now, it was HER turn to help them.
