Well, I say we sail north to land, and greet the mysterious pony on the shores. We’re here on a mission for the up and coming shaman of her village. We should make new friends along the way! And it would behoove us to both enter peacefully and have a guide to avoid the worst of the danger.
There’s might be a chance of illusions or disguised creatures, but I think we’re better off approaching openly rather than trying to sneak in.

You sail north toward the eastern horn of Midgard, and after carefully avoiding the many rocks hiding in or jutting out of the water, you finally reach the island’s grassy seashore.

Apple Basket: “No pier in sight, huh. Well, here’s hopin’ the hull doesn’t get caught on somethin’ sharp when the tide’s low.”

Once firmly anchored, you and your friends climb out of the boat, and up the short coastal ridge. Then, you decide to begin your visit of the island by meeting that pony-like creature you just saw, and find it gnawing on a tree’s exposed root nearby.

The closer you walk to the creature, however, the less normal it looks; the teenager-sized, mostly bareskin equinoid appears to only wear swirls of green hair as a coat, while its red crest is fenced by four ivory horns — the likes of which you’ve never seen on a pony before.

Stranger yet, its almost completely bare tail poorly hides the distinct lack of key mammalian features under it. You’re not sure how to feel about this.

Still, as you approach, the creature turns to stare at you with blank, yellow irises over dark, gray eyes. You tentatively offer your best smile in return, along with a friendly, not-too-forward greeting. Your companions wave politely.

Creature: “Uoy… Cigam evah uoy? Ereh eb ton dluohs uoy.”

The creature’s response sends your mind reeling for a moment. It seems to be speaking in another language, yet you feel like you can understand what it says.
