No, the Smooze in the G4 ep was rubbish - a little guy made out of green slime that got angry and started sliming everything. Kinda like the ghost Slimer from Ghostbusters, if he had a bad day. :P
 
The G1 Smooze, on the other hand, was a living, semi-sentient material that could spread and cover everything with itself, forming a hard and near-impenetrable shell of dry Smooze. It’s one goal was to cover the whole of the world/Ponyland and make everything dank, dark and dreary (as per the wishes of the witches of the Volcano of Doom). It was a very real danger to the future of Dream Valley, and was an awesome threat for the big movie. :)

Although I hope that if he makes a G4 appearance, he won’t get altered as badly as the Smooze did! (Wtf was that shit? :P)

How come the hat which he touches doesn’t petrify, but the bow which he doesn’t touch does?
