I would’ve said it like this:

Nightmare Moon: But…YOU’RE MORTALS! HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE!?

Twilight: You said it yourself Luna…we’re The Elements Of Harmony!

They blast her with the rainbow

Box office failure doesn’t anything.

Atlantis: The lost Empire was a box office failure.
Titan AE was one.

And both were great movies.

There’s probably something to hiring different directors based on the source material or whatever, yeah? :j

Actually, James Gunn wrote the two theatrical Scooby Doo movies, and produced the second one, but he didn’t direct either. Which, IMHO, makes his success with Guardians of the Galaxy all the more unexpected.

%And not that it’s relevant, but the first Scooby Doo movie was an unqualified success, with a gross of $275m against a budget of %$85m. The second was a disappointment, though not an outright failure, with a gross of $181m against another $80+m budget.~

The Anti-Normies
“Guardians of the Galaxy was considered a risky venture, being an obscure comic property featuring a gun-toting raccoon and an animated tree amongst its lineup. Predictions of failure abounded, despite the film being handled by the genius who brought the world two Scooby-Doo films. Upon release, it quickly gained a Rotten Tomatoes score of 92% (tying it with The Avengers as the second-highest rated Marvel Cinematic Universe on that site), and it has the highest Metacritic score of any MCU offering thus far. Its $94 million opening weekend take exceeded projections and expectations, and its worldwide earnings exceeded its production cost after less than a week.
