Description

Mulberry tries to carve a big rune next to the other runes on the small bead. She let’s out a yelp and pulls away when the bead pops like a firecracker and goes dim. She examines the bead, and sees that it’s scorched and sooty, and a chunk has been blown out of it.

Deciding to experiment and hoping that this will solve her problem, she grabs another bed and carves the runes again, this time adding a “Big” into it.

She then trots the length of the staff from the bead, and holding the magic rod by it’s very end she casts the spell. The bead lights up, much brighter than before.

She thinks that she is mostly ready, but then she gets an idea. Taking the bundle of twenty feet she carves the protection runes like the ones above the door onto it and swings the staff at it. The runes light up, and stay that way. Hopefully it works. She has no real way to tell until she actually encounters a monster. She attempts to make shapes out of the rope. It makes a circle of about 5 feet if she lays it down carefully. The spell also doesn’t go out when she attempts to lift it. She stows it in her bag.
