Besides, combat is just torture on her mane.

In terms of why Pinkie is the Pyro, do yourself a favor and watch the “Meet the Pyro” video.
I like Derpy for Soldier. As a lot of people like to portray Derpy as a little detached from reality, and the Soldier is the most detached from reality of the team. Also AJ generally gets pegged as engie, because they’re both roughly the same stereotype, even though the details vary considerably.

AJ is tough, loyal, strong and not particularly smart. Sounds like the soldier.
