After a quick search, for real horses it’s still “the Y that makes the guy”. For fictional, talking, sapient horses this may not hold true.

From a purely genetic standpoint it SHOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE for magical lesbian spawn to be male.
Disregarding that fact that they are both female (let’s just say that it’s possible for a female to impregnate another female) both parents have a double X chromosome, meaning there’s no Y chromosome that can be inherited, and as we all know, it’s the Y is what makes a guy.
So yeah, all magical lesbian spawn should be female.
Mind you, this is from a PURELY GENETIC standpoint. With magic, ANYTHING GOES!
After all, a Y chromosome is pretty much just a mutated X chromosome.
